Itsy: Full Review

One of the best aspects of Twitter is the sheer number of clients that can be used with the micro blogging service. While some services such as TweetDeck provides full screen the timeline panel, direct messages, and finding, some people feel that a lot of the vast majority of information--especially when you just want to see your timeline. Enter Itsy, minimalist Twitter client available for free from Mac App Store.

Itsy is displayed as a single column on the desktop. It may be extended to pick up the screen height and wider or narrower to between 1/8 and 1/4 of the desktop. The timeline is displayed with your followers beside their words in white bubbles icons. At the top of the Itsy, dark gray icons for the home timeline, @ replies, direct messages, search, and new tweets. Hover over a tweet and icons are displayed for replying and retweeting favoriting. New tweets are displayed via Growl popups.

Yet unobtrusive Itsy his presence on the desktop, we would be able to instantly hide or show the application by clicking an icon on the toolbar at the top of the screen. We also have both posted photos have appeared right in time. Similarly, clicking on links instantly load the linked story in our browser defaults, but remains in the foreground Itsy, allowing us to keep scrolling through the latest tweets.

Writing a Tweet in Itsy is a breeze. Click on the icon and type the word bubble up to 140 characters. There is a link shortener left of the button "send", which took us a Tweet or two to discover. We wish, Itsy includes hover labels for all of their icons to convince users that the icon does what you think it does. In view of the real-time nature of Twitter, no one wants to be the errant post tweet.

In addition to your home timeline Itsy also displays your @ replies, direct messages and basic searches. @ Replies column appeared just as crisp and clean as the timeline, but direct messages were a different story. Instead of grouping direct messages by conversation or person they are when they were sent. Although messages in the same characters as the timeline and @ replies, small envelope appears below directly when receiving messages, which generates a response.

If you compose a new direct message, you must manually type the command direct message and user name, as does Autocomplete list Itsy followers. For example to send a message, we had to type "d geekinchief" and then write the message. We hope to address this issue soon Itsy.

Itsy continues to grow as an application, and will hopefully be fixed in versions of our little Chinese. Clean interface, smooth scrolling and mostly intuitive icons this app easy on the eyes, and we really like the ease with which it displays your timeline. If you're big on direct messages, this application can drive you nuts, but if you're a Twitter crawler than tweeting villain, it's worth the download.
