13 January 2011 Kenneth ButlerAccording to new numbers Gartner, one of the top five retailers laptop United States, only two companies, Apple, Toshiba and more laptops shipped in the fourth quarter of 2010 over last year. Others – HP, Dell and Acer – suffering year-over-year decline in the number of units shipped.
Two companies with positive results Apple grew ahead of Toshiba 14.4% increase in units shipped to the largest year-over-year growth metric, 23.7%. While at 5.6 million, HP is number one in the total units shipped in the quarter, down from 5.9 million units, the company moved in the same quarter last year, a drop of 6%. Dell, number two in common shared supplies dropped 6.1% last year, and Acer has fallen by a whopping 30%.
Gartner says consumer laptops and netbooks, fell during the holidays because of General buyers fatigue and popularity of the iPad and other tablet devices. Although this particular study did not include tablet device (only desktop and laptop PCS were counted) firm said growth Tablet media plays a significant role in the PC market during the previous year and that its role will develop further in the coming year.
Gartner also said the better sales markets professional laptop helped some companies give the effect of weakening consumer interest. Makes sense, that Acer, as a producer, which underlines the mainstream PCs and has several business notebooks, the largest drop in shipments had year-over-year.
