ASUS Eee slate EP121: early thoughts, touch UI caught on video

Can't get enough of the ASUS Eee slate EP121? You're in luck. 12.1-inch slate, just maybe, the most enjoyable we saw Windows 7 tablet. Why is that? Because it runs on an Intel Core i5 vs. easier HAND or Qualcomm chips found in most other tablets. More powerful Intel chip helps launch Windows 7 Tablet slender with promising performance. We played with art rage, Eee slate painting software for stylus and finger input, as well as installing Flash game plants vs. Aliens video you can see below. Both devices worked well, although not entirely perfect.

While we were at it, we took notes on equipment and design. 121 Slate Eee Pad is a tablet device, but it will ship with Bluetooth keyboard. It also includes a pen, HDMI, Bluetooth, 2MP camera and capacitive display with 1280 × 800. Some of the highlights include spring stylus dock equipment, a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button for keyboard and another hardware button to the right of the display that runs Aero flip slide between Windows.

Bluetooth keyboard is concerned though. It got a deep curve, looks pretty slick on camera, but can be annoying in real life. Just look at the n key to see what we mean.

Unfortunately the Asus booth was too crowded to do practical complete but help yourself all the video and snapshots below.
