One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project has received a major boost with the addition of ARM chips and establishing a 8.9 inch touchscreen that allow children to operate the machine much easier. Edward McNierney, chief technology officer of OLPC is to explain these changes and what it will mean for the OLPC project, in fact, there is a video on YouTube where he goes over the features and benefits of the updated version of the OLPC.

These are the two main changes to the XO 1.75-mini laptop.
XO-1.75 is the first OLPC laptop use ARM chips, a 1 GHz Marvell Armada 610 chip from technology, to reduce energy consumption by half — to just 2 Watts
XO-1,75 will have an 8.9-inch touch screen, so that children can use their fingers instead of jumpy mouse or sensitive keyboard to interact with the XO
